Sharing Content During Zoom Meeting

  1. Click on the yellow "Share" button located in the middle of the Zoom Control Panel.Zoom Control Panel with all of its functions displayed. Focused mainly on the "Share Screen" button.

 

  1. ​​​​​​​Basic Content Sharing:
  • From this point, you can choose how you would like to share content with the Zoom Meeting. You can choose to simply share your Computer Screen which will share whatever you have displayed on your PC.
  • If you want to share a specific file or application, you can click on the desired option as it is displayed below and it will only show that application while sharing. (Ex: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Chrome, Firefox)
  • An alternative option provided is the iPhone/iPad “Screen Mirroring” option where you can connect your Apple device to be displayed to the meeting as well.
  • There is also an option to use the Whiteboard to write or draw illustrations for the meeting.

Advanced Options for Sharing Content

  1. There are also Advance Options for sharing content from your devices. You can access this by clicking on the “Advanced” tab next to “Basic.”

  • The Advanced Options consist of:
    • Portion of Screen - This allows you to select a specific portion of your screen to share only. It will be indicated by a yellow box that you can adjust to what you want to show.

    • Computer Sound Only - This makes it so that you are sharing only the Audio from your computer.

    • Content from 2nd Camera - This option is for use if you have a Document Camera connected to your computer that you would like to share with the participants.

 

  1. Next to the yellow Share button is an upward arrow that pulls up a quick menu allowing adjustments to the number of users who can share content to the meeting. From here, you can choose to allow one or multiple participants to share content to the meeting.

  1. There are more detailed options that can be seen in the “Advanced Sharing Options” provided in the upward arrow menu. From here you can make changes depending on whether a Host can share content or if Participants can do so.
