Change Advisory Board (CAB) Charge
Information Technology Services (ITS) has charged the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to guide the implementation of technical changes to support the educational mission of Northeastern State University (NSU).
Purpose
The Change Advisory Board (CAB) assists in the prioritization of change requests by ensuring that standardized methods and procedures are leveraged for the efficient and prompt handling of all changes associated with services offered by ITS in order to maintain the University's business-critical systems.
Objectives

Evaluate and approve change requests based on resource constraints, risk, the effect on the quality of services delivered, and alignment with the university mission, values, and goals. Ensure efficient communication of changes among stakeholders. Ensure alignment with best practice and industry standards for technology-related changes.

Activities
- Recommends to ITS leadership the framework and procedures for an effective and streamlined change management process.
- Establish and maintain a change repository for mission-critical systems.
- Conduct a periodic review of CAB process and activities for quality improvement opportunities.
- Conduct a quarterly review of the change procedures to ensure the process is efficient and concise.

Membership
CAB is composed of eight members of the ITS Staff:
- Enterprise Systems Leadership
- Infrastructure Leadership
- Client Services Leadership
- Project Manager
- IT Security
- Subject Matter Experts (SME) may be engaged as needed
Members Roles
Chair: The chair facilitates meetings by setting the agenda and presiding over the meetings and the work of the committee. The chair serves a six-month term.
Secretary: The secretary schedules a meeting room, sends reminders of meetings: and records and posts minutes of each meeting. The secretary services a six-month term.
Change Manager: The Change Manager ensures that the change repository is accurate and up to date. The Change Manager serves a six-month term.
CAB Appointments
Nominations can be made to ITS Leadership. Nominations may be made by any employee in ITS. Self-nominations are permissible. With the approval of the supervisor, the accepted nominee will be seated.
