Download AnyConnect Client
Note: If you are on a Mac, be sure you are using Chrome or Firefox. If you use Safari, you will encounter an error when trying to download the application.
To begin, log in to NSU Guest on campus or another network off-campus.
- If using a machine you do not have administrative privileges on, we recommend using desktop.nsuok.edu instead
Once you are online go to vpn.nsuok.edu
This will take you to the VPN sign-in page. The Group should be set to NSUVPN. Enter your NSU username and password then click on Login.
1) Click on the "AnyConnect" link that appears in the left drop down menu and select the "Start AnyConnect" to the right of the menu.

2) A page will load with the title "Download & Install." Click the "Download for *Your Operating System Here*."

3) The application will download.
Scroll to the appropriate section depending on whether you are using Windows or macOS
Setup AnyConnect on Windows
1) If you are using Google Chrome the download will appear at the bottom left. Click on the "anyconnect ....exe" to start the installation.

2) This will bring up the "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Setup". Click next to proceed.
3) The next screen will contain the End User License Agreement. Read the contract and if you agree to select the radio button that says I accept the terms in the License Agreement. Then select Next at the bottom of the window.
4) On the next window, select the Install button. A pop-up window will appear that asks: Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your PC? Select Yes.
- Note: You will need to have Administrative rights to install this application. If you have an NSU laptop you should already have Admin rights.
5) This will start the installation process. Wait for the Wizard to complete the installation and select the Finish button.
6) Cisco AnyConnect is now installed on your computer. The first time you click the Start button "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client" will show as recently added.

7) After the first time, you can locate "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client" via click the start button and searching Cisco AnyConnect.
Using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN
1) When you open AnyConnect a round blue and white icon will appear on your taskbar near the Show Hidden Icons option. A pop-up window will also appear for you to connect.

2) The first time you connect you will need to type vpn.nsuok.edu. Then click Connect.

3) A sign-in window will open and you will need to enter your NSU Username and Password.
Setup AnyConnect on macOS
Note: You will need to have Administrative rights to install this application. If you have an NSU MacBook Pro you should already have Administrative rights.
1) When the download is complete click on the download button on the Dock and select the AnyConnect option to open.
A window will open showing the Cisco AnyConnect app. Click the app icon to proceed.

2) This will bring up the "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Setup". Click next to proceed.
3) The next screen will contain the End User License Agreement. Click the Continue button. Read the contract and if you agree to select the button that says Agree and select next.
4) Select Install at the bottom of the window.
5) A window informing you that the Installer is trying to install new software will open. On a University Mac you will need to enter your Password or on a personal device follow directions based on how you have configured your device. Then click on the button that says Install Software.
6) A window will open telling you the installation was successful. Click the Close button to continue.
7) The Mac may ask you if you wish to move the Installer to the trash, you may decide and select appropriately.
Close all windows and Safari.
Using the Cisco AnyConnect VPN
Open the Finder and you will see the Cisco AnyConnect file.
1) Select Applications in the menu to the left to see the Cisco file. Notice that to the right of the Cisco file icon there is an arrow. When you click on the file the pane to the left will show the Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client you just installed.
2) Click on the Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client and you will see two things. First, the pane to the left will show the Icon that represents the application and second a VPN: Ready to connect window will open.
Make sure the text area contains the text vpn.nsuok.edu then click the Connect button.

A window titled Cisco AnyConnect will open. Make sure the Group field is set to NSUVPN and enter your NSU Username and Password. Select OK.
