Accessing the Virtual Desktop
Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.)
Navigate to
desktop.nsuok.edu
Sign into Apache Guacamole using your NSU credentials
The Windows 10 virtual desktop will load after successfully entering your NSU credentials.
Note: Be aware that the top taskbar, as circled in red in the picture below, is the taskbar for the virtual machine. The bottom taskbar is the taskbar for your local machine.
Note: Your experience may be slowed by using the Virtual Desktop.
Accessing the network drives with the Virtual Desktop
Click on the top file explorer icon.
This will open the virtual machine control panel where the network drives can be accessed.
Note: In order to download files from the virtual machine to your local computer, you will need to email yourself the documents from within the virtual machine, then open your email on your local machine and access them that way. You can also upload the files to your Google drive, through the virtual machine, then access your Google drive on your local machine.
Log out when finished
Click the Windows button on the Virtual Desktop
Select the person icon from the list
Click Sign out
