Understanding a Term Code
A term code looks like this, "202510"
This string has two parts:
- Year
- Term
- Summer = 10
- Fall = 20
- Spring = 30
The easiest way to identify the correct term code for each semester is to consider the Spring semester.
Spring term codes are the only codes with the Year portion that matches the calendar year.
- Summer 2024 = 202510
- For the "year" part of the code, use (calendar year + 1)
- Fall 2024 = 202520
- For the "year" part of the code, use (calendar year + 1)
- Spring 2025 = 202530
Another trick to knowing the term code is looking at the first digit in the actual CRN:
- If the first digit starts with a 1 then it's the Summer term.
- If the first digit starts with a 2 then it's the Fall term.
- If the first digit starts with a 3 then it's the Spring term.
