Telecommunications

The Infrastructure team maintains and supports the telephony system of the university. Our telephony service provider is Cisco. We work with them to provide VoIP Cisco phones to Colleges and Departments. When submitting a ticket with us, include the extension(s) you are experiencing an issue with.

Account Changes

Colleges and Departments can request Account Changes associated with their Cisco Phones. Our Telecommunication Analysts will update our phone system accordingly.

Account Changes consist of: 

  • Updating your Email
  • Office Room Number
  • Building Location
  • FOAP Information

When submitting a ticket for Account Changes, please have your Account Sponsor and FOAP information available, as this information will be required.

Monthly Phone Bills

Colleges and Department Account Sponsors receive monthly phone bills generated from our ISI system. These statements consist of fees your area is being charged for phone services. 

When submitting a ticket for Monthly Phone Bill Inquiries, please have your Account Sponsor, FOAP Information, and the Statement Date(s) available, as this information will be required.

New Phone Installation

The Infrastructure teams provides Voice-over-IP or VoIP Cisco Phones to NSU Employees. 

Employees who move office locations within the same department should take their office phone with them.

Employees who transfer departments should leave their current assigned phone. The new department should submit a ticket to have the employees new phone reprogrammed.

When submitting a ticket for a New Phone Installation, please have your Account Sponsor and FOAP information available as this request requires a $350.00 per phone charge.

Phone Programming

Colleges and Departments can request Phone Programming Changes of their Cisco Phones.

Phone Programming consists of:

  • Adding or Removing Extensions
  • Setting up Roll-Over Services
  • Configuring Speed Dial Options
  • Changing Caller ID Displays

When submitting a ticket for Phone Programming, please have your Account Sponsor and FOAP information available as this request requires a $10.00 per phone configuration charge.

Voicemail

The Infrastructure team supports voice mail capabilities on your office Cisco phone. These services include setting up your voicemail box, resetting your voicemail pin, and resolving voicemail issues. When you request your voicemail PIN to be reset, the default PIN is: 1234.
