UniFLOW Online: First Time User Setup & Access.

Overview

UniFLOW Online is a cloud-based print and scan management solution designed to modernize campus and office environments. By utilizing a centralized platform, it standardizes access rules and security permissions across an entire fleet of devices.

The platform simplifies the printing experience through several integrated features:

  • Universal Output Queue: Users can print to a single, generic print queue and release their jobs at any compatible device, regardless of the printer model or network configuration. This removes the need for managing multiple printer drivers on personal laptops.
  • Flexible Authentication: Access is streamlined through multiple login methods, including ID cards and PIN codes. Single Sign-On (SSO) integration allows users to log in using their existing campus credentials.

General Setup & Access Instructions

UniFLOW Online offers flexibility in accessing print jobs at the printer. You can login via your PIN Code or setup your ID card on printers.

PIN Code Access

1) Welcome email

You will receive a email from UniFLOW Online similar to the one below with your "Online PIN". This PIN is essential for accessing the printer.

ID Card Access

1) Registering your ID Card

To link your ID card to your account, follow these steps at any campus copier:

  • Swipe your ID card in the magnetic reader.
  • To utilize the PIN code authentication system, select "Send Card Registration Code" on the screen to receive a PIN via your campus email.

Once registered, your card provides automatic login for all future use. If you misplace your card or forget it, you can request a one-time use code to print by clicking "Request one-time PIN" from the screen.

Submitting and releasing print jobs

1) Submitting a print job

The "UniFLOW SmartClient" is deployed by Northeastern State University Information Technology Services to all NSU endpoints. This installation requires a reboot to finalize setup. This should already be completed on most Northeastern State University endpoints. If you encounter any issues with printing, we recommend to restart as a first step at troubleshooting.

You can verify the client is running by looking at your system tray.

When printing from an application like Microsoft Word, ensure that "NSU Cloud Uniflow print" is selected.

You may see a option from "UniFLOW SmartClient" to select a printing option. Selecting, "Secure Print" will send the job to any of the Canon printers on each of the campus. Depending on your location, HP printers will show as available to print to.

2) Releasing your print jobs

Authenticate by swiping your card or entering your PIN Code.
From here you can select your "Print Jobs" and release them for printing.

Additionally, you can change finishing options (like duplex or color) directly on the screen before releasing the job.

Troubleshooting?

  • Please verify the "UniFLOW SmartClient" is running by checking the System Tray for the application icon above. It should say, "You're connected!" . If you do not see this, please first try restarting your computer.
  • Please also ensure that you are printing to, "NSU Cloud Uniflow print" to ensure print jobs are accessible when accessing a printer.
  • If your ID card does not successfully swipe, please try again. Sometimes it may have trouble reading the card if you swipe too quickly or slowly.
